Hispanic Market in the Seattle-Tacoma Area
Numbers and Origins. - According to GeoScape data, the Seattle-Tacoma experienced a nine percent increase in its Hispanic population from 2007 - 2008. Mexicans are driving the growth – their numbers have increased by 90 percent since 2000, to 302,000 in 2008.
Did you know that the apple industry depends very much on Mexico? The number one importer of Washington apples is Mexico. Not only are they are picked up by a large Mexican community, but they are also consumed by Mexicans in Mexico. Just last year 8,583,779 42lb bushel cartons were exported.
