Update on Electronic Music Festivals on County Properties


At Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Hilda L. Solis and County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich introduced a motion to re-examine the Board’s past guidelines, evaluate restrictions developed by other jurisdictions, and assess all new information available regarding electronic music festivals on LA County properties. Supervisor Solis Supports Diversion Programs in Los Angeles County Jails


Supervisor Hilda L. Solis also voted to create a County Office of Diversion and Re-Entry and to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into this effort. MORE

Supervisors Solis and Antonovich requested more than $58.9 million from the SCAQMD for Metrolink


The motion, co-authored by Supervisors Hilda L. Solis and Michael D. Antonovich, requests that the Board of Supervisors send a five signature letter to the Governing Board of Directors of the South Coast Air Quality Management District to express support for Metrolink’s grant request for funding from the Carl Moyer Grant Program.

Los Angeles County Arts Grants - Now Available!

Eligible non-profit arts organizations in Los Angeles County are encouraged to apply.  Guidelines and application are available at lacountyarts.org/grantsapply<http://lacountyarts.org/GrantsHow.html>. Union Station: Metrolink Chief Executive Officer, Art Leahy provides Supervisor Solis an inside look to their state-of-the-art rail system


This week, in effort to help understand operations, plans and the budget, Metrolink staff coordinated a half day tour of various sites, facilities and rail lines. The tour sites included positive train control, maintenance shop, and an overview of the agency’s current operating budget.
